To the Trucking Community on Behalf of APM Terminals Pier 400, Los Angeles:
APM Terminals is attempting to reduce the number of trucks queuing on Navy Way, with a goal of reducing the drivers’ overall visit time at Pier 400.
The L.A. Port Police is enforcing parking regulations on public roads, including Navy Way. Drayage truckers have been parking on Navy Way, just outside of the North Gate to Pier 400, as early as 3 PM in the afternoon. As a result, the traffic congestion has increased on Navy Way.Please advise your drivers that if they arrive at Pier 400 prior to 6 PM they will be expected to proceed directly into the terminal. If they attempt to park on Navy Way, between the hours of 3 PM and 6 PM, they may be issued a citation.If your truck enters the terminal prior to 6 PM, the driver will be expected to initiate a cargo transaction, which will includes paying any applicable TMF. Your drivers cannot enter the terminal prior to 6 PM to simply “park and wait”, as this action impacts all of the other trucks attempting to enter the terminal.If you have questions regarding the appointment systemcall:
